The WCW wrestling era was one of the greatest professional wrestling tenures in the history of sports entertainment.

10 Longest WCW Championship Reigns of All Time (World Heavyweight Championship)
Champions like Hulk Hogan, Vader, Ric Flair, Goldberg, Sting, Kevin Nash, and more took the legacy of the promotion forward and made it into the history of wrestling as one of the greatest eras of all time.
The WCW era started in 1988 and lasted up to 2001, and during this period, we got some of the greatest wrestlers of all time.
Below are the longest WCW Championship reigns in history.
1) Hulk Hogan

- Reign Duration: 468 days
Hulk Hogan had multiple WCW reigns, but the one that started on July 17, 1994, and ended on October 29, 1995, lasted over 468 days.
Making his way to WCW in 1994, Hogan faced Ric Flair at Bash at the Beach, where he secured his first-ever win in WCW and continued to dominate for over a year thereafter.
2) Hulk Hogan (August 10, 1996 – August 4, 1997)
- Reign Duration: 358 days
The second biggest WCW Championship reign is also under Hulk Hogan’s name.
During the WCW Road Wild PPV, Hogan captured his second World Heavyweight Championship, which lasted almost a year (358 days).
3) Vader (March 17, 1993 – December 27, 1993

- Reign Duration: 284 days
During WCW’s UK tour, Vader defeated Sting to become the WCW champion for the third time in his career.
Sting won the title just a week ago, but Vader made sure to end Sting’s reign in a quick interval.
4) Lex Luger (July 14, 1991 – February 29, 1992)
- Reign Duration: 229 days
Lex Luger registered the fourth-longest WCW title reign as he remained WCW champion for 229 days.
Luger was the no. 1 contender and was about to clash with Ric Flair at Great American Bash 1991, but at the last moment, Flair opted out, and Barry Windham was announced as the opponent for Lex.
Luger with a piledriver finisher secured the title and started the longest WCW reign of his career.
5) Ric Flair (December 27, 1993 – July 17, 1994)
- Reign Duration: 201 days
Ric Flair, being a 10-time world champion, put his career on the line against Vader for the WCW Championship.
Ric defeated Vader at Starrcade 1993, registered the 11th title win in his career, and had a title reign of 201 days.
6) Goldberg (July 6, 1998 – December 27, 1998)

- Reign Duration: 173 days
Goldberg shocked everyone present in Georgia as he defeated Hulk Hogan with a spear followed by a jackhammer to become the new WCW champion at the Georgia Dome at Monday Nitro.
The reign lasted over 173 days, which takes it to 6th position in the longest WCW Championship Reigns.
7) Ric Flair (Jan 11, 1991 – July 1, 1991)

- Reign Duration: 170 days
Sting was the NWA world champion at that time, and on January 11, 1991, the Nature Boy defeated The Icon to become the WCW champion and had a reign of 170 days.

8) Ron Simmons (August 2, 1992 – December 30, 1992)
- Reign Duration: 149 daysÂ
Sting was going for a rematch against Vader for the WCW title at a live event in Baltimore, but was out of action due to injury.
Later that night, Ron Simmons won the raffle to become the number one contender for the WCW World Championship, won the title on the same night and registered a reign that lasted for 149 days.
9) Hulk Hogan (August 9, 1997 – December 28, 1997)
- Reign Duration: 140 days
Hulk Hogan had another big title reign, as he was the WCW champion for 140 days during his reign in 1997.
10) Sting (February 29, 1992 – July 12, 1992)
- Reign Duration: 133 days
The chemistry between Sting and Lex Luger was solid as both friends and rivals. At Superbrawl II, Sting challenged Luger for the WCW Championship.
Sting with a flying body press registered his first WCW Championship win.
