Just after defending the NXT women’s championship successfully at NXT Battleground against Jordynne Grace, Stephanie was set to face Jacy for the title match at NXT.
The member of Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne) slapped the champ backstage, which led to this battle at NXT 5/27.
Stephanie Vaquer loses the NXT championship to Jacy Jayne
Fallon Henley was teased earlier that night to betray her friend Jacy, but during the match, when the referee was distracted, she helped her friend by attacking the champ.
With that opportunity, Jacy delivered a rolling elbow to win the NXT Women’s championship.
Even the ring announcer, Mike Rome, was shocked to see the outcome of the match.
