With Cena vs. Punk confirmed for the event, there are a lot more matches in the lineup, while some returns await, which are as follows:
1) WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
Gunther vs. Goldberg
Goldberg vs. Gunther has been teased by the promotion since Bad Blood 2024, and now, as Night of Champions approaches with no opponent for the world heavyweight title, we could see this happen.
Goldberg is ready for his last WWE ride, and we all know he’ll probably face Gunther, personally, I believe it’s the right time for this match.
2) Roman Reigns could return and interrupt Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins has already hinted at cashing in his Money in the Bank contract over Cena, and if he does at Night of Champions, the doors for Roman Reigns’ return may open.
Roman is looking for redemption over Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman, and costing Rollins the Money in the Bank contract could be the perfect setup for further storyline between the two.
3) Jade Cargill could win Queen of the Ring 2025
Jade Cargill has been a big name in the WWE women’s roster, and since her return at Elimination Chamber, she’s been looking for the women’s title.
Now that she has qualified for the semifinals of Queen of the Ring 2025 after defeating Piper Niven, Michin, and Nia Jax, we could finally see her winning the tournament and facing Tiffany Stratton at SummerSlam 2025.
4) WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match
Becky Lynch vs. Bayley
Last week on Raw, Bayley returned and attacked Becky, shifting the focus from the former Intercontinental champion, Lyra Valkyria.
A title match between the two could take place at WWE Night of Champions 2025.
There are chances that even a triple-threat match between Becky, Lyra, and Bayley could take place on June 28.
5) Hikuleo Debuts
Hikuleo shocked everyone by making an appearance at SmackDown before it aired live.
As WWE didn’t include his debut on WWE TV, we could expect him to participate in the ongoing storyline between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at the 2025 Night of Champions.
