John Cena, the biggest babyface of WWE, has just recently dropped an exclusive update about his WWE debut, which was not planned but happened by chance, according to him.
We all know Cena is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, and he’s the only one with 17 world titles. Now that he’s heading towards his last days in the company, he revealed something big about his WWE debut.
Let’s delve into the complete story.
John Cena’s WWE Debut Happened by Chance

John Cena made his WWE debut in 2002, where he first faced heel Kurt Angle and started the Ruthless Aggression Era, but many don’t know the actual reason behind his debut.
Cena recently visited The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where the superstar revealed that his debut took place that day because The Undertaker was sick.
While talking with Jimmy, Cena said, “In 23 years, we have seen the timeline go from like Ruthless Aggression to ‘just happy to be kicking it.’ [Whether he has a final opponent in mind] No, no. I have never operated like that. It’s weird because I have always been like that guy. That clip you saw was by mistake. The Undertaker was sick. No kidding. I have always been like, reliable, showing up, and doing whatever was asked.“
Cena hasn’t revealed this insight about his WWE debut before, but as he’s in his last days in WWE, he finally shared the reason behind the debut of one of the greatest wrestlers in WWE.

John Cena’s last match at WWE vs AEW clash?

A latest report by Bryan Alvarez claims that WWE is planning to conduct the final match of Cena’s career on the same date when AEW will conduct its Worlds End PPV, which is set for 27 December 2025.
Originally, Cena’s last match was said to be taking place somewhere around mid-December, but it seems that WWE might change the plan to clash with AEW directly.
Another report says that John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar will also take place on September 20, 2025, at WWE Bad Blood 2025, the same day when AEW will have their AEW All Out PPV.
Brock’s appearance for SmackDown in September adds more strength to this news.
But as we don’t have an official announcement about this update, we can’t confirm it, but we can’t deny the chances either.
We hope you enjoyed the post.
I’ll see you in the next post.
